Here in Osaka, in a little under a week, we are going to open an exhibition. It will definitely be experimental. We (me, Elliott, and Kazuma) came up with the title not too long ago. The title is "Green People."

In Japan, I learned that the people who stand on certain corners to facilitate children easily crossing the road so they can walk to school are sometimes called green people. I don't think they wear green, but maybe their helpful, peaceful nature makes them so.

In New York, actually specifically in my neighborhood, there is a woman who wears entirely light spring green every day. She's earned the nickname "the green lady," as she's dressed this way for the past twenty years or so. "I've just become green -- I can't wear any other color," she explained in an interview in the New York Times. When I see her walking her golden retriever to the bank, like I did not too long ago, many exciting narratives form in my imagination...

The Green Lady shops for vegetables nearby my house!

Elliott's favorite green color is close to the green lady's, as it's a bright, spring green. My favorite green is more classic... like grass.

When I stayed in the countryside here last week, in Tottori prefecture, I walked by rice fields every day. I loved watching the wind blow through them. Sometimes they would have multiple shades of green within them... some new plants, some a little older.

In Telegram, the mobile app we have been using to stay in touch together, I started a new group chat to connect us. In Telegram, it asks you to name the group. I didn't know really, so off the top of my head I chose "green people." Then it became the title of our exhibition.
